Squid Rings with Garlic Mayo Dip

This dish is a popular appetizer in the Philippines and is often enjoyed as a snack or a starter to a meal. The squid rings are crispy and tender while the garlic mayo dip is tangy, creamy and add a nice contrast of flavors. It is a great dish to be shared with friends and family and can be paired with a cold beer. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 500g Squid Rings, thawed
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the squid rings and pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, and pepper together.
  3. Dredge the squid rings in the flour mixture, making sure they are evenly coated.
  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the squid rings and fry for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
  5. Remove the squid rings from the pan and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  6. To make the dip, mince the garlic cloves and mix them with the mayonnaise and lemon juice in a small bowl. Stir until well combined.
  7. Serve the fried squid rings hot, with the garlic mayo dip on the side.

Note: You can adjust the amount of garlic in the dip according to your taste preference.
